From start to finish a fine art boudoir session should tell a story. A story of beauty, confidence, and unashamed vulnerability. At the end of that story – I love that a session gone right not only produces some amazing images but leaves a beautiful mark on a woman’s soul.
An amazing session doesn’t just happen, it starts with some careful and thoughtful planning. So when preparing for your session…
1. Personalize It: Bring personal touches from your home that reflect you & your love.
That can be in Jewelry & Accessories: Whether it’s your engagement ring, a sparkly necklace your sweetheart gifted you, your favorite sheer lace wrap – honestly we can never have too many options. Some extras include gloves, fishnets, & stockings. And I ABSOLUTELY love a beautiful bouquet.
2. Be YOU. I base my boudoir sessions and direction off of a natural movement/activity. EXAMPLE – You waking up in bed. You waiting for your significant other to get home. Getting dressed. You taking a bath, putting on makeup, etc. Think about what everyday action of life that we can make sensual. What do you want to capture? If this is for your significant other think about something they love doing with you or have made comments you look relaxed or beautiful. The more ideas the better!
3. Think on it. Let it sit. Let’s make this MORE than WORTH IT. My darling – what is your motivation for booking a session? What are you most looking forward to about it? If this session is mainly for your significant other why do you want to do this for them? If this session is mainly for you what are you hoping to get out of the session and these images? Dont just do it because its a trend. A thing to do or a gift for someone. Really take the time to live with it. The entire experience. What is your history with your body? Think about a moment in your life – any moment, when you felt your most beautiful.
Remember. YOU DESERVE THIS.
